Incumbent Pamela Harris defeated Lucretia Regina-Potter, Mikhail Usher, and Patrick Dwyer in the New York State Assembly District 46 general election. The filing deadline for independent candidates was August 23, 2016. The filing deadline for major party candidates was July 14, 2016. That means more charter schools to increase competition, but it also means school vouchers for parents to be able to send their kids to private schools. If nobody wants to send their child to a school, not even people who live right next to it, why should that school even operate? Why doesn’t the education of our children take precedence over a bureaucratic need to maintain schools that fail our boys and girls? A child has only one chance to get his or her education, why should that chance be destroyed because it benefits the bureaucrats? Wealthy liberal elites send their kids to private schools, but want to force you against your will to enroll your child in a school that nobody wants. The very question means they stand against our children. When liberals are asked about school vouchers, they ask what will happen if nobody will send their children to some schools if parents are given a choice. Michael promises that the first bill he introduces in the Assembly will be to lower the tax burden on both our citizens and our small businesses. It allows those who have jobs to take home more of the money they earned, while helping businesses create more jobs for those who are presently unemployed. The best way to help our families succeed is to reduce taxes. As a small business owner, Michael knows what it takes to succeed. Politicians increase regulations primarily to benefit themselves to get media attention by claiming to solve a problem that they don’t even understand because most of them never ran a business, so they only make things worse. It is time for the government to reduce unnecessary bureaucracy. Unfortunately, every year more absurd regulations add to the difficulty of making a business prosper. Small businesses create 70% of all new jobs.
Michael will be the voice of reason who will say loud and clear that real danger comes from criminals, not police officers. He understands that without cops our lives would be destroyed by criminals and terrorists, and only by standing by our law enforcement can we make it possible for them to safeguard our lives.
Michael stands with the police officers against attacks by Barack Obama and Bill de Blasio. At the time when politicians apologize for saying all lives matter rather than only one race's lives matter, Michael stands unafraid to defend all citizens against Political Correctness that purposely seeks to pit people against one another.
